Waterford Sports Partnership launched its Sports Inclusion Disability Project in May 2008. The partnership has a Sports Inclusion Disability Officer (SIDO) to oversee the management of the project whose aim is to increase participation by people with a disability in sport and physical activity.
A key outcome of the project involves the provision of sports programming for people with disabilities in a variety of settings. These include the participation of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity through targeted activities such as Boccia, Walk for Life etc.
