Active Disability Ireland Training

Active Disability Ireland Training & Education Opportunities

A fundamental pillar of the Sports Inclusion Disability Programme is training and education. Active Disability Ireland coordinates, develops, and delivers inclusive training and education workshops across the sport, health, education, and community sectors. These workshops are designed to equip participants with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills required to include people with disabilities in sport and physical activity, supporting the delivery of high-quality, inclusive opportunities for all. The Active Disability Ireland training framework is currently under review from January to July 2026. During this review period, the following workshops remain available:

Sports Inclusion Disability Awareness (SIDA) eLearning
Participants can complete the online learning programme at their own pace and are invited to attend a free follow-up online workshop each month to support them in putting their learning into practice.

Sports Inclusion & Disability Awareness Training (Face-to-Face)
This interactive workshop explores disability awareness, inclusive communication, and practical approaches to creating welcoming and inclusive sport and physical activity environments.

Sports Inclusion Disability Awareness Training for Board Members
Designed specifically for board and committee members, this workshop focuses on inclusive leadership, governance, and creating organisational cultures that support participation for people with disabilities.

By participating in these workshops, coaches, volunteers, teachers, community leaders, and board members can develop the skills and confidence needed to ensure sport and physical activity opportunities are accessible and inclusive for everyone.
