Online Skipping Programme

Published: September 14, 2020

The aim is to introduce children and teachers to the world of skipping. Skipping is a terrific form of exercise that helps a child’s agility, balance, hand-eye co-ordination and can increase speed through footwork. It teaches children about rhythm and when put into team routines, it provides them with team work skills and encourages them to have confidence in their sporting ability. It is a great way to exercise, maintain good health while having lots of fun.

WSP, in partnership with SKIP’n’ROPE, are offering discounted skipping ropes and online resources to deliver the programme in their schools. A rope should be ordered for each student, so they can practice in school and at home.

Cost: Cost is dependent upon class size but WSP will offer a 35% discount on ropes. School will order the ropes using a WSP discount code. Logistics: Links to online tutorial videos will be emailed to the school, enabling the teachers to teach the students how to skip safely and correctly.

Our programmes are included in the Active Schools programme too! All participants will receive a Get Ireland Swimming hat, goggles and bag.

Swimming is a vital life skill, especially when living on the coast. GIS helps school children to learn and improve their swimming skills by assisting schools with pool hire, swim instructors and transportation, while also learning in a fun environment.
