COME ON LADIES! Dig that bike out of the shed or borrow a bike from a friend this is your chance to meet & train with like-minded ladies - get fit, have fun and take part in a great event! Women on Wheels is a five week programme starting on Saturday July 31st with a Cycling Workshop in Tramore.

The 2010 Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford
The fourth staging of the Sean KellyTour of Waterford takes place on Sunday August 29th 2010. There are three routes to choose from - The 160k Kelly Comeragh Challenge, The all new 90k Kelly Coast & the 50k Kelly Cruise. Also new for 2010 on Saturday August 28th will be the 10k Kelly Ten, an event for over 7's. Online & postal entry are now open! Get on your bike for this great event!

Waterford and South Tipperary combine to give training opportunities to novice cyclists
Waterford Sports Partnership & South Tipperary Sports Partnership in conjunction with Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers and the Carrick Touring Cycling Club are providing training opportunities in Carrick, Kilmacthomas & Portlaw for cyclists over 18 years of age to participate in a structured training programme which will be led by qualified coaches from the two clubs.

Sean Kelly Tour Schools Challenge - START TRAINING NOW!
Waterford Sports Partnership is running a Schools Challenge to encourage young people to train for and take art in the Sean Kelly Tour. The Schools Challenge is open to all City and County secondary schools students at a cost of €10. This entry fee gives participants Cycling Ireland membership, access to organised training spins by local Cycling Clubs, a Sean Kelly Tour Water Bottle and also entry to the 10/50/90km routes of the Sean Kelly Tour on Sunday 29th August 2010.

WOW - Women out Walking Programme!
Waterford Sports Partnership is currently running a 'Women Out Walking' Programme which is supported by the HSE Participation Programme and funded by the Irish Sports Council. The programme encourages women to get out walking in their local area. Regular participants receive a Pedometer and Log Book to record their steps! .

Launch of the National Guidelines on Physical Activity for Ireland – ‘Get Ireland Active’
The Department of Health and Children and the Health Service Executive have launched The National Guidelines on Physical Activity for Ireland –‘Get Ireland Active’. The aim of these guidelines is to: highlight the importance of physical activity to the health of Irish people; outline the recommendations for physical activity for people of all ages and abilities; provide information to support those promoting physical activity in their everyday work, and direct people to where they can access information and support to become more physically active.

WASP Evaluation Report Launched
Mr. John Treacy, Chief Executive of The Irish Sports Council recently launched a Report evaluating the Waterford Sports Partnership’s Waterford Active Schools Programme (WASP). This piece of research, which was funded by the Irish Sports Council, was compiled by Waterford Sports Partnership and the Centre for Health Behaviour Research in Waterford Institute of Technology.
