Published: October 8, 2018

Here’s a question: If you sleep an average of 8 hours per day, what are you doing for the remaining 16 hours of the day? Sitting behind a wheel? Sitting at work? Sitting watching TV? Sitting while you eat? In Ireland, people spend on average 5.3 hours sitting each workday. At work many of us sit for long periods of time.

In Ireland, men on average sit for 5.5 hours each day, while women sit on average for 5.2 hours a day.

Did you know that Adults should be getting at least 30 minute a day of moderate activity on 5 days a week (or 150 minutes a week).

We run various programmes throughout the year that can help you get active.
