A Message from our outgoing Chairperson, Terry Hayes

Waterford Sports Partnership (WSP) is a highly organised, well-governed organisation that delivers quality programmes and engages with community groups, individuals, and other bodies across Waterford city and county. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at WSP as a PPN representative.
As a Director, I served on several sub-committees during my time. The highlight was my three-year term as Chairperson, which finished in June 2025. It was a busy and challenging period as we reached full compliance with the Sport Ireland Governance Code for Sport. The valuable role that sport plays in Irish society was very much the focus, as new posts and pilot projects were granted to WSP, with additional posts secured.
Many thanks to all the staff at WSP, with whom I had the pleasure of working, under the guidance and leadership of CEO Rosarie Kealy. To my fellow directors, past and present, a special word of thanks for your support, guidance, and friendship. Your diligence was such an important factor in all our deliberations. I wish Sinéad Breathnach well as she takes over as Chairperson. I had the privilege of working with Sinéad and I am confident she will bring her own style and manner to the role.
Many thanks to all – no doubt our paths will cross again.
Terry Hayes
