The seven principles of Leave No Trace provide a simple framework for enjoying the outdoors responsibly and minimising our impact on nature. They can be applied to all outdoor activities and locations.
The seven principles are:

- Travel and Camp Responsibly
- Leave What You Find
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Protect Nature From Fire

Recreation in Ireland’s Outdoors
The Recreation in Ireland’s Outdoors: Property Rights, Access and People’s Responsibilities booklet outlines the rights and responsibilities of landowners and recreational users. It recognises that much of Ireland’s outdoor recreation takes place on private land and promotes respectful, responsible use to protect the environment and support continued access to the countryside.
