
Preparing for a Bike Ride
Spending just a few minutes preparing before every ride can make your cycle safer, more enjoyable and help prevent mechanical problems.
Before every ride remember to:
- Check your tyre pressure.
- Test both brakes.
- Ensure your chain is clean and lubricated.
- Wear a properly fitted helmet.
- Bring water.
- Carry a fully charged mobile phone.
- Pack a spare tube, tyre levers and pump for longer rides.
- Dress appropriately for the weather.
- Tell someone your route if cycling alone.

- Cleaning your bike regularly.
