Walk on Wednesday
Physical activity is for everyone and any level is better for your health than none at all. Adults we are recommended to get at least 30 minutes physical activity 5 days per week. Walking is one of the easiest ways to be physically active. When we walk, just like with any kind of exercise, our brains release chemicals that make us feel good. This means walking can help us cope with depression, stress and anxiety. Walking helps improve your mood and boosts self-esteem.
Over the coming weeks, why not try and achieve these guidelines on your own while adhering to the HSE’s Distancing Guidelines.
Join our Walk on Wednesday initiative, where we are encouraging you to walk for 30 minutes every Wednesday for the month of April. This can be done in your garden, around your house, up and down the stairs or even in your hallway. Don’t forget to tag Waterford Sports Partnership on Facebook and Instagram to let us know that you’re taking part in Walk on Wednesday.
