€30,290 awarded to sports clubs across Waterford City & County
by Waterford Sports Partnership.
The Waterford Sports Partnership (WSP) Club Development Grant aims to support initiatives that will lead to an increase in participation levels in sports clubs across Waterford. The 2022 fund prioritised minority sports clubs, low participation groups and the target groups identified in the Waterford Sports Partnership Strategic Plan 2018-2022.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it has been over two years since we were able to run a Club Development Grant Scheme and, as a result, we received a large volume of applications.
64 Waterford sports club applications were successful and have been awarded funding ranging from €200 – €500. The funding will be used by these sports clubs to purchase sports equipment, first aid kits, and to provide summer camps and NGB/ Coaching Ireland training and education courses for club volunteers. Unfortunately, not all the applications submitted were successful. We will endeavour to support the unsuccessful sports clubs with their application for future funding opportunities.
All sports clubs have officially been informed of their funding award, and we would like to take this opportunity to wish them all the very best of luck with their projects.
