National Bike Week 2026 takes places from Saturday 9th to Sunday 17th May and is a nationwide celebration of cycling—promoting it as a fun, healthy, and sustainable way to travel, get active, and connect with your community.
We have a wide range of FREE events on offer for all ages and abilities this Bike Week!
Bikes and helmets can be provided.
Cycle & Stroll – Kilmacthomas to Crough Woods (Over 18’s)
Saturday 9th May | 9 to 1pm | Meet @ Coach House Greenway Car Park | Kilmacthomas
Cycle from Kilmacthomas to Crough Woods (10km) where we’ll enjoy a 5km stroll along the river followed by complimentary refreshments in Crough Café, before we cycle back to Kilmacthomas (10km). FREE EVENT
WOMEN ONLY! Learn to Cycle Programme- – Beginner Cycling Programme (Over 16s)
Monday 11th May | 7 to 8pm | Meet @ Waterford Regional Sports Centre
Join us for a four week beginner cycle programme for women & girl aged 16+, who never got the chance to learn to cycle or want to brush up on their cycling skills. FREE EVENT
Summer Social Cycle – Beginner Cycling Programme (Over 18s)
Tuesday 12th May | 6 – 8pm | Meet @ the Railway Cottage
Led by Dungarvan Cycling Club, this supportive 4-week group ride is ideal for those looking to build confidence, enjoy the outdoors, and meet new people. FREE EVENT
Lunchtime Cycle | Dungarvan (over 18’s)
Wednesday 13th May | 12:30 – 2pm | Meet @ Walton Park, Abbeyside
Join us for a lunchtime cycle to Clonea Beach. Light lunch is provided. Meet at Walton Park at 12:30. Return before 2pm. FREE EVENT
Bike, Beach & Yoga (Over 18s)
Thursday 14th May | 6.30 – 8:30pm | Meet @ Walton Park, Abbeyside
Join us for a relaxing 4-week summer programme! Cycle 6km along the Greenway to Clonea Beach. Beach yoga session (hotel end) led by a qualified instructor (mats provided) – and we cycle back as a group after! FREE EVENT
