
What is Go For Life ?
There are two key strands:
Active Living : aims to get more people involved in health enhancing physical activity. The programme is implemented in partnership with the Health Promotion Officers of the country's ten health boards.
Sport Participation : aims to increase participation rates in sport by older people. It is intended that leaders will be trained locally through the new network of Local Sports Partnerships - leaders who will in turn promote participation in sport amongst the older people in their communities.

Waterford Sports Partnership & Go for LifeTo date WSP have organised and facilitated 25 workshops in Waterford which included: Basic Principals, Sit Fit, Better Balance and Rolling & Bowling, Stepping & Strolling and Pitching & Tossing.
Activity Mornings in Dungarvan Every Thursday morning from 11.30am to 12.45pm Activity Mornings are taking place in the Dungarvan Sports Centre for older adult groups in the Dungarvan area. These mornings aim to support the PALs and offer the chance for groups to meet each other and to share experiences. Activities include bowling, kurling, six and nine pins, bocca and potcha, frisbie and many more.
Funding Opportunities
The Go For Life Grants Scheme is run annually.
Funding applications come out in the autumn of every year and grant applications are for initiatives developed by clubs and local organisations to help increase the participation of older adults in recreational sport and physical activity.
